  Limited edition 7” double sider written by underground Disco pioneer Gary Davis. The previously unreleased title track “Searchin for my Lover” was sourced from original multi track tapes and reworked by DJ/producer Knoe1. The tapes were salvaged from basement sessions with Davis’ teenage funk outfit Sanction, circa 1979. The lost tracks were reinterpreted in the studio by Knoe1 who mixed in his own flavor- layering live musicians and constructing a modern arrangement. The result is a contemporary classic, fusing 1970’s soul with dance floor funk.
  
  The B-side compliment “Gotta Get Your Dub” is another dancefloor classic reworked by Knoe1 and features the powerful voice of Los Angeles soul singer Afrodyete of Breakestra/ Jungle Fire.
  The original version by Gary Davis is a known Disco staple, now reimagined through stomping 4/4 rhythms and motivating vocals. ... more
